I’m a renter moving into a new property
What do I need to do?
The good news is as a renter moving into a property, you don’t need to do anything. Your rental provider or property manager will let us know and give us your details - we'll set up an account for you.
New customers
We’ll set up a new account for you and send you your first bill within three months of moving in. Most customers will receive their bill by email, so it's best to make sure we're on your approved senders list so your bill doesn't end up in your junk mail.
Existing customers
Make sure you tell us you’re moving out of your previous property at least two business days beforehand. We’ll transfer your account to your new property.
I have an eligible concession card
Be sure to apply for a concession when you move in so you can receive your discount. Your rental provider or real estate agent can’t do this for you.
Find out more about eligible concession cards at our concession page.
What will I need to pay for?
If you're a renter, in most cases you’ll only be responsible for paying the water usage charge. This charge now includes what was previously called the sewage disposal charge. Check out our prices and charges here.
Property owners pay for everything else.
When will I get my bill?
If you're a new South East Water customer, we’ll send your first bill within three months of moving in.
