What type of application do I need? 

You may need to lodge an application and pay a fee before getting started. Apply online or download an application below.

  • Property sewerage plan application
  • Asset location application
  • Asset size, depth and offset application
  • Property inquiry application
  • Plumbing application – commercial, units and private water
  • Buildover asset and/or easement
  • Check, remote and missing meters
  • Apply for a new sewer connection and a new (20mm only) water supply connection (Wet Tapping). South East Water undertakes the connection (Wet Tapping) into the water main.
  • The plumber is responsible to provide the service into the property from the water main, assemble and install the delivered meter.
  • Apply for a new sewer connection, recycled water (Class A) connection and a new (20mm only) water supply meter from existing connection (Dry Tapping). South East Water coordinates the recycled water (Class A) connection and the water supply connection (Dry Tapping) from both mains and the installation of both assemblies / meters.
  • The plumber is responsible for providing the service from the meters to the dwelling and connect to the existing sewer point. 
  • Apply for a new recycled water (Class A) connection. South East Water coordinates the recycled water (Class A) connection from the recycled water main and the installation of the assembly / meter.
  • The plumber is responsible to provide the service from the meter to the dwelling.
  • Apply for new sewer (only) connection when demolishing & rebuilding a dwelling and the existing water assembly / meter is retained in its current location.
  • Apply for new sewer (only) connection when existing dwelling was previously connected to a septic tank (unsewered area). Contribution fees (in addition to application, plumbing and connection fees) may be applicable and will be assessed upon application. 
  • Apply for alteration of sewer (only) internal plumbing when an existing dwelling is adding / removing fixtures (toilet, basin, etc).
  • Apply for alteration of sewer (only) internal plumbing when an existing dwelling is extended to include additional fixtures (toilet, basin, etc).
  • Apply for removal / disconnection of sewer (only) internal plumbing when an existing dwelling is being demolished.
  • Apply for a new (20mm only) water supply connection (Wet Tapping). South East Water undertakes the connection (Wet Tapping) into the water main.
  • The plumber is responsible to provide the service into the property from the water main, assemble and install the delivered meter.
  • Apply for a new (20mm only) water supply meter from existing connection (Dry Tapping). South East Water coordinates the connection (Dry Tapping) from the water main and the installation of the assembly / meter.
  • The plumber is responsible to provide the service from the meter to the dwelling.
  • Apply for the disconnection / reconnection of an existing 20mm water service to an alternate location within the property. South East Water undertakes the disconnection / connection (Wet Tapping) into the water main. 
  • The plumber provides the service into the property from the water main, assemble and install the delivered meter at the same time returning the existing meter.
  • Apply for the disconnection of an existing 20mm water service. South East Water undertakes the disconnection at the water main. 
  • The plumber is responsible for the return of the meter at the time of disconnection.
  • Apply for new sewer connection and the disconnection / reconnection of an existing 20mm water service to an alternate location within the property. South East Water undertakes the disconnection / connection (Wet Tapping) into the water main.
  • The plumber provides the service into the property from the water main, assemble and install the delivered meter at the same time returning the existing meter.

What information do I need to provide?

When you make a connection application through Property Connect, we’ll ask you to provide the following so we can assess your application: 

  • A detailed site plan 
  • An architectural floor plan 
  • The number of proposed units/ lots 
  • Hydraulic plans for larger developments

Depending on the type of application, we may also ask: 

  • If there’s any proposed structures to be located within one metre of one of our assets? If this hasn’t been resolved during the design state, it could delay your plumbing application 
  • Are ground anchors proposed? 
  • Is there an underground rainwater tank?
  • What are the water servicing requirements? This includes service type, size, flow rate requirements, etc. 
  • Will there be any trade waste discharge? If so, what type?
  • Will there be any pumped sewer discharge? If so, what discharge flow rate?
  • Will there be a bulk hot water service? 

Fire services 

If you apply for a fire service, we’ll also ask you to provide: 

  • Type of service(s), e.g. hydrant, sprinkler, hose reel
  • The Australian Standard of the sprinkler design if fire sprinklers are proposed 
  • Pressure and flow information. You can view this information on Property Connect.
  • a hydraulic water plan
  • a schematic water plan
  • details of the fire pump curves if inline pumping is required
