We’ve lifted the Boil Water Advisory for Koo Wee Rup – your water is safe to drink

In consultation with the Department of Health, we have lifted the Boil Water Advisory for Koo Wee Rup. Customers no longer need to boil their water and can use their water as normal.

We identified an issue with one of our water supply tanks which caused the contamination. This tank remains out of service until it’s fixed. In the meantime, we’ll continue to supply you with safe drinking water from another part of our network. This arrangement has been in place since Saturday 22 May.

We have flushed our systems and all water quality sampling results have come back clear. This confirms your water is safe to drink.

Flushing your internal pipes
Residential customers

We recommend that you flush internal taps for 2 minutes to draw fresh water into your internal plumbing before returning to normal water usage in your home.

Business customers (aged care, hospitals, schools, etc.)

We recommend that you flush internal taps for 5 minutes to draw fresh water into your internal plumbing before returning to normal water usage in your organisation.
