Works in your area starting May 2022

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing. With some works in Whiteside Road, Beaconsfield you might see us or our contractor Fulton Hogan, Delplant, Beca Joint Venture (FHDB) around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to install:

  • a new drinking water main to cater for growth in the area; and
  • a recycled water pipe along the same alignment to reduce reliance on drinking water supply.

We'll also be removing the redundant water tank at 65 Whiteside Road and replacing it with a pressure reduction station (inside a building) on the old tank site.

We're working with FHDB to help us.

When it's happening

We're starting the project with demolishing the redundant water tank. These works will commence on 2 May 2022 and take approximatley one week to complete (weather permitting).

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and
5 pm. On the odd occasion, we may need to work at other times for safety or technical reasons.

We'll start work to install the water and recycled water mains and the pressure reduction station from August 2022.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice while we work:

  • More trucks on Whiteside Road, Brunt Road and on the local streets around you.
  • Noise from heavy machinery, like beepers when trucks reverse, continuous running engine/motor sounds and removal of the tank.
  • Replacement of the fence at 65 Whiteside Road with temporary fence panels.
  • You'll notice that our traffic management team are around too, to make sure people, bikes and cars can move around safely.

Please take care when travelling around the work site.
