Works in your area starting May 2022

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing. With some works in Whiteside Road, Beaconsfield you might see us or our contractor Fulton Hogan, Delplant, Beca Joint Venture (FHDB) around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to install:

  • a new drinking water main to cater for growth in the area; and
  • a recycled water pipe along the same alignment to reduce reliance on drinking water supply.

We'll also be removing the redundant water tank at 65 Whiteside Road and replacing it with a pressure reduction station (inside a building) on the old tank site.

We're working with FHDB to help us.

When it's happening

Project works began with demolishing the redundant water tank at 65 Whiteside Road. Our works to construct the pressure reducing station are expected to be completed in October 2024.

We’ll be starting works along Brunt Road (south of the level crossing) on Thursday 11 July and expect to be completed in November 2024.

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm. On the odd occasion, we may need to work at other times for safety, permit or technical reasons.

Our works alongside Princes Highway have now been completed. We no longer have a presence on Princes Highway.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice while we work:

  • More trucks on Whiteside Road, Brunt Road and on the local streets around you.
  • Driveway access to some properties along Whiteside Road may be intermittently impacted. At least 24 hours notice will be given to residents.
  • Reduced street parking on Elizabeth Parkway.
  • Footpath closure on the eastern side of Brunt Road, between Pioneer Way and the railway corridor. Pedestrian detour will be available via the western side of Brunt Road.
  • Periods of noise and dust when heavy machinery is being used, including reversing beepers .
  • Replacement of the fence at 65 Whiteside Road.
  • You'll notice that our traffic management team are around too, to make sure people, bikes and cars can move around safely.

Please take care when travelling around the work site.
