Pakenham Water Recycling Plant Upgrades

Works in your area starting July 2024

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water and wastewater flowing.

With upcoming works at our Pakenham Water Recycling Plant (WRP) you might see us or our industry partner, Beca Fulton Hogan Interflow (BFHI) around.

Here's what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to upgrade a potable water pipeline to cater for future demand and install a secondary clarifier bypass system to ensure the reliability of the WRP and allow for future upgrades.

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewer services. We plan to connect the new pipe using a technique that doesn't require us to affect water supply to the water main on Healesville - Koo Wee Rup Road.

We’re working with our industry partner Beca, Fulton Hogan, Interflow (BFHI) to help us.

When it's happening

We’re planning to start work in July 2024 and finish by early October 2024. It should take around 3 months to complete (depending on the weather).

You might not notice us working on site every day, but we'll keep our neighbours informed of our progress.

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 6 pm. On the odd occasion, we might need to work at other times for safety or technical reasons.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are some things you might notice while we work:

More trucks on the streets around you and entering the WRP
Noise from machinery.

Please take care when travelling around the WRP and driveway.

Don't miss these details

BHFI will have a site compound set up in the WRP.

We'll access the plant through the main driveway off Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Road. We'll do our best to reduce impacts and clean up the road if required.

We're planning multiple upgrades to the WRP over the next 5 years. We haven't finalised the details and impacts of these projects yet, but will keep the WRP webpage up to date.
