Mount Martha Water Recycling Plant Secondary Clarifiers

Works in your area starting May 2024

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water and wastewater flowing.

With upcoming works at our Mount Martha Water Recycling Plant (WRP) you might see us or our industry partner Beca, Fulton Hogan, Interflow (BFHI) around.

Here's what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to install two additional clarifiers at our Mt Martha Water Recycling Plant (WRP).

The project will increase the capacity of the WRP to allow for projected flows up to 2060 and allow us to conduct maintenance on existing clarifiers.

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewer services.

We’re working with our industry partner Beca, Fulton Hogan, Interflow Joint Venture (BFHI) to help us.

When it's happening

We’re planning to start work in May 2024 and finish by December 2025. It should take around 20 months to complete (depending on the weather).

You might not notice us working on site every day, but we'll keep our neighbours informed of our progress.

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 6 pm. On the odd occasion, we might need to work at other times for safety or technical reasons.

What might impact you

We'll need to use large machinery to install the new clarifiers, remove some trees and move large amounts of soil.

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are some things you might notice while we work:

More trucks on the streets around you and entering the WRP
Noise from machinery.

Please take care when travelling around the WRP and driveway.

Don't miss these details

BFHI will have a site compound set up in the WRP. These buildings will remain on site for future works at the WRP.

We'll access the plant through the main driveway off Craigie Road. We'll do our best to reduce impacts are clean up the road if required.

We're planning multiple upgrades to the WRP over the next 5 years. We haven't finalised the details and impacts of these projects yet, but will keep the WRP webpage up to date.
