Works in your area starting April 2024

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing. With upcoming works for the Recycled Water Links project – Thompsons Rd Cranbourne East, you might see us or our delivery partner Zinfra, Jaydo, WSP Joint Venture (ZJW) around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to construct underground pipes to allow existing estates to be supplied with recycled water in the future.

The works for the first stage of this project within 1660 Thompsons Road are now complete.

To help us finalise the design for the next stage, we’ll need to undertake some investigative works. We need to locate and expose underground services and cables, using non-destructive digging (NDD). NDD uses pressurised water to break up and vacuum soil to expose assets and services. This involves an expert an expert digging in multiple locations along our planned work area (see map below).

Once the investigation works are complete, we’ll finalise the designs and return to site to commence construction of the final stage. We’ll be in contact with affected residents and business owners to provide further information prior to the next stage of works commencing.

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewerage services while we work.

We're working with ZJW to help us.

When it's happening

We’ve now completed the first stage of works within 1660 Thompsons Road.

We’re starting investigative works soon on Thompsons Road, between William Thwaites Boulevard and Stoneleigh Road so you might see us or our contractor ZJW around.

Our investigative works have been delayed until further notice due to permit issues. We’ll let you know when works are due to commence.

Once the investigation works are complete, we’ll finalise the designs and return to site to commence construction of the final stage.

We’ll get in touch prior to returning to the area to confirm dates and any potential impacts of these works.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice while we undertake our investigative work:

  • Lane closures on Thompsons Road between William Thwaites Boulevard and Stoneleigh Road (see map below)
  • Speed reduction and traffic management in place
  • Construction noise from machinery, including beepers when trucks reverse and the use of NDD machinery
  • Fewer car parks around the works area
  • More trucks on  the streets around you.

Don't miss these details

ZJW will have a temporary site compound set up at 1660 Thompsons Road for the duration of the works.
