Works restarting in your area from October 2024

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing. With some ongoing works in Ti Tree Creek and Clyde Road, Berwick you might see us or our contractor Fulton Hogan Delplant Beca Joint Venture (FHDB) around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to install a new sewer pipe in Berwick to increase the reliability of the network and reduce the risk of spills.

We're working with FHDB to help us.

We've been unexpectedly delayed due to permits. We're now restarting works in Grices Reserve. Our storage area in Berwick Springs near Marija Crescent will also be in place until the end of the project.

We’ll need to do additional connection works at the end of the project to connect the new sewer to the existing sewer network. We’re still planning these works, and we’ll notify you of any impacts in advance.

When it's happening

We apologise for the unexpected project delays in some areas. We're planning to restart from mid October 2024. Below is a list of current works.

Berwick Springs (Marija Crescent) - Our temporary fencing and storage area will remain on site until the project is complete. We'll also need to install a pump to pump groundwater out of our excavations, and dispose it in the existing sewer network. We'll be in touch with any affected residents before works start.

Grices Road and Recreational Reserve  - Works will restart in this area from mid October. We expect to finish in April 2025. You'll notice new gravel roads in the reserves to allow our equipment and deliveries to reach the southern works area.

We apologise for the extended delay and are doing everything we can to finish the project as quickly and safely as we can.

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 6 pm. On the odd occasion, we may need to work at other times for safety or technical reasons.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice while we work:

  • Deliveries and construction of temporary gravel roads at the southern end of the alignment to access the works area.
  • Movement of heavy vehicles in and out of work zones during working hours.
  • Noise from machinery, like beepers when trucks reverse.
  • More trucks on local roads and in reserve areas

Construction staff will be available to safely guide drivers and pedestrians through the works area. Please take care when travelling around the work site.

Don't miss these details

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewer services while we work.

FHDB will have a temporary site compound and storage area for the duration of the works. These areas will remain in place until we finish the project.

When we’ve finished the job, we’ll leave things how we found them and return any areas we’ve impacted as close as possible to their original condition.
