South East Water recognised at VIC operator awards

South East Water has been recognised at the Victorian Water Industry Operators Association (WIOA) Awards winning Network Operator of the Year and named a finalist for New Operator of the Year. 

Water Network Technician Ethan Mansfield took out the top honour of Network Operator of the Year, selected from participants in WIOA’s Network Operator Development Program.

The award recognises Ethan’s outstanding performance, commitment to safety and leadership potential across the Victorian water industry. 

He recently completed the program, which identifies and develops future leaders in the water industry and focuses on strategic thinking, best practice and hands‑on learning.

Sewerage Operations Technician Nikita Woods was named a finalist for New Operator of the Year and was acknowledged for her strong early contribution to the industry. 

Since joining South East Water in late 2024, Nikita has progressed rapidly, completing required training ahead of schedule and consistently stepping into higher responsibilities. Her nomination recognised her initiative, professionalism and emerging leadership within sewer network operations.

South East Water Service Delivery General Manager, Tim Lloyd said the recognition reflected the organisation’s focus on developing skilled operators. 

The Victorian (WIOA) Awards recognise excellence among water industry operators across the state, highlighting strong operational performance, safety leadership and professional development. Awards are judged by an independent industry panel and presented at the annual WIOA Victorian Conference in Bendigo.
