2026 National Water Week poster competition now open
South East Water is inviting local young Water Heroes, from kindergarten to Year 8, to create a poster for the 2026 National Water Week competition.
Students can design, draw, paint or use digital media to create a poster that reflects this year’s theme Water Heroes: Make Every Drop Count. The theme highlights how everyone can use water wisely and what matters most to future generations.
South East Water General Manager Strategy and Stakeholder, Karen Lau said the poster competition is a fun and interactive way for students to learn about the importance of water in daily life.
“The National Water Week poster competition celebrates creativity, learning and care for our water.
“Young people bring curiosity and bold thinking to the challenge, and their artwork inspires conversations about protecting and valuing water” said Ms Lau.
Mount Eliza Primary School Principal Michael Kent said the competition helped bring classroom learning to life.
“The South East Water poster competition gives students a meaningful way to think about water conservation and why it matters.
“It links well with what we teach at school and encourages students to take those lessons home, where small changes can make a real difference”, said Mr Kent.
Competition winners will be announced during National Water Week from 19 to 25 October. First-place winners in each category will progress to the state-level competition.
