Construction works in your area

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes, pumps and infrastructure that maintain water quality and keep water flowing. 

With some upcoming works in The Basin you might see us or our industry partner, Abergeldie, BMD & KBR (ABK) around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

We're planning to upgrade the Chlorination Unit located within our pump station on Mountain Highway in The Basin.

The upgrade will help us to deliver essential chlorination to our water network, ensuring we continue to provide safe drinking water supplies.

When it's happening

Construction is scheduled to take place from Monday 3 August 2026 for approximately 4 months (depending on the weather). 

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 5 pm, and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm. We may need to work at other times, including at night for safety, permit or technical reasons.

What might impact you

During construction you may notice: 

  • Tree removal within our work zone to construct the Chlorination Unit Building (see map)
  • Temporary, solar-powered site compound and crew parking area
  •  Traffic management on Mountain Highway for heavy vehicle deliveries
  • Noise and dust from heavy machinery including beepers when trucks reverse
  • More traffic movements in and out of the site
Don't miss these details

Pedestrian access via Lyric Court 
Pedestrians will have ongoing access between Lyric Court and Mountain Highway. Please take care when walking or travelling around the work site. Construction staff and traffic signage will be available to guide road users safely through the area.

There will be no planned disruptions to your water or sewerage services during these works.
