Construction works in your area

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes, pumps and infrastructure that maintain water quality and keep water flowing. 

With some upcoming works in Chelsea Heights you might see us or our industry partner, Abergeldie, BMD & KBR (ABK) around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

We're upgrading the Chlorination Unit located within our pressure reducing station on Wells Road in Cheslea Heights. 

The upgrade will help us to deliver essential chlorination to our water network, ensuring we continue to provide safe drinking water supplies.

When it's happening

Construction is scheduled to take place from Monday 16 February for approximately 4 months (depending on the weather).

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 5 pm, and Saturday 9 am to 1 pm. We may need to work at other times, including at night for safety, permit or technical reasons.

What might impact you

During construction you may notice:  

  • Temporary lane closure on Thames Promenade to allow access for deliveries to our site on Wells Road, Chelsea Heights
  • Traffic management to safely guide drivers and pedestrians around the site
  • Secure fencing around our temporary site compound and storage area
  • Periods of noise from and dust from heavy machinery, including reversing beepers
  • Trucks and construction vehicles moving through the area
Don't miss these details

There will be no planned disruptions to your water or sewerage services during these works. 

We’ll work with the community and key stakeholders to minimise construction, social and environmental impacts.
