What we’re doing
This project is to construct and install a new water transfer main in Lang Lang to cater for future growth in the area.
When it's happening
We're planning to start works from mid-October 2026. We'll commence works to construct a dedicated water transfer pipeline on McDonalds Track from mid-October, for approximately 5 weeks.
We'll then move our crews onto Western Port Road. We'll work in sections in the eastbound lane on Westernport Road. The eastbound lane will be closed during our works, however we'll have traffic management in place to maintain two-way traffic.
What might impact you
We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice when construction begins:
McDonalds Track and Westernport Road will have delays with traffic reduced to one lane, with traffic management in place maintaining two-way traffic
Local road closures with detours in place
Traffic management, including temporary traffic signals to guide road users around the work zone
Periods of noise when heavy machinery is being used, including reversing beepers
More trucks on local roads and reduced on-street parking

We're working with Abergeldie, BMD, KBR (ABK) to help us.
ABK will be temporarily using the nature reserve area at the south western corner of Westernport Road and McDonald’s Track as a temporary site office and storage area for equipment. There won’t be a permanent building on this site, but the area will be secure and follow strict safety requirements. You’ll notice:
- Temporary fencing
- Storage for equipment
- A small site office that looks like a shipping container
- Vehicles entering and leaving the site for the duration of the works.
Our Industry Partner Abergeldie, BMD, KBR Joint Venture (ABK) will undertake these works on behalf of South East Water.
No. If you experience any disruption to your water or sewerage services please call our 24/7 Faults and Emergencies team on 13 28 12.
No, we don't plan to impact driveway access. If for any reason during construction we need to block your driveway access, we will notify you in person and where possible, provide at least 24 hours' notice so that alternative parking arrangements can be made.
To safely undertake these works, traffic and pedestrian conditions may change so please take care when travelling around the construction sites.
When we’ve finished the job, we’ll leave things how we found them and return any areas we’ve impacted as close as possible to their original condition.
There is no cost to the property owner for these works.
