Sewer works in your area will recommence in July 2026

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing.

With upcoming sewer renewal works in Guy Street and Forest Park Road, Upwey you might see us or our contractor Abergeldie, BMD & KBR (ABK) around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to renew the sewer rising main pipeline in Guy Street, Upwey to increase the reliability of the network and reduce the risk of spills.

We're working with ABK to help us.

When it's happening

We'll be returning to site on Monday 27 July 2026 for approximately 10 weeks (depending on the weather).

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday, between 7am and 6pm and the occasional Saturday between the hours of 7am to 1pm.  On the odd occasion, we might need to work at other times for safety, technical or permit reasons.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice during construction:

  • A temporary site compound and storage area on Forest Park Road.
  • More construction vehicles on local roads, and construction workers in the area.
  • Limited street parking around the work zone.
  • Closure of David’s Track (Guy Street Emergency Access Track) during working hours.
  • Local access to properties will be maintained for residents along Forest Park Road at all times.
  • Periods of noise when heavy machinery is being used, including excavation equipment, eduction trucks, a temporary bypass system operated by a generator, and reversing beepers.
  • Traffic management will be in place on Forest Park Road and Guy Street to help ensure the safe movement of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work areas. Please take care when travelling around the work site.
  • Increased construction worker presence at the South East Water (SEW) pump station on Guy Street (accessing via the emergency access track north of Forest Park Road), and the manhole on Guy Street, south of Forest Park Road (behind properties 6 and 8 Hume Street)

There will be no disruption to your water or sewerage services during these works. We’ll continue to work with you to minimise impacts where possible, and keep you informed about upcoming works.
