Works from early May 2026

South East Water will soon begin construction on the sewer and recycled water pipelines along Greenhills Road in Pakenham South.  These works will facilitate planned development works in the local area.

We’re working with our industry partner, BFHI (Beca, Fulton Hogan, Interflow) to help us.

What we're doing

We’re relocating sections of the sewer rising main and recycled water main along Greenhills Road to facilitate the installation of a stormwater drain.

Road closure Greenhills Rd
We need to close a section of Greenhills Road, between McGregor Road and Innovation Way while we work. A detour will be in place, and local access to properties will be maintained.

Dewatering of our construction area
To safely complete the work, we need to dewater (pump out the groundwater) from our construction site. In agreement with Council, we'll discharge groundwater from our site into the roadside drain on the eastern side of McGregor Rd.

When it's happening

We plan to start construction from early May 2026 until early August 2026 (depending on weather and ground conditions.

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm. On occasion, we might need to work at other times (including at night) for safety, operational or permit reasons.

What might impact you

Dewatering of our construction area
Properties along Mcgregor Rd may notice a increased consident flow of groundwater down the roadside drain towards Watson Rd while we work.

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice while we work:

  • Road closure and reduced speed limits around our work areas, including local detours
  • Heavy machinery and crews working within the road reserve
  • Noise and dust from construction machinery
  • Site compound located on the corner of Greenhills Rd and McGregor Rd.

Please take care when travelling around the work site.
