Works in your area from May 2026

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water and wastewater flowing.

With upcoming works at our Mount Martha Water Recycling Plant (WRP) you might see us or our industry partner Beca, Fulton Hogan, Interflow (BFHI) around.

Here's what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to upgrade the aeration diffuser grids at our Mt Martha Water Recycling Plant (WRP).

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewer services.

We’re working with our industry partner Beca, Fulton Hogan, Interflow Joint Venture (BFHI) to help us.

When it's happening

Works are anticipated to commence from mid-May 2026 until late-June 2026 (depending on the weather).

You can expect us to work Monday to Friday between 7 am and 6 pm. On the odd occasion, we might need to work at other times for safety or technical reasons.

There will be works undertaken on Saturdays, between 7 am and 5 pm. If extra hours are expected such as night works, we'll keep our neighbours updated.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are some things you might notice while we work: 

  • More trucks on the streets around you and entering the WRP
  • Noise from machinery and reversing beepers
  • Additional vehicles such as excavators, trucks and a crane 
  • Lights to illuminate the works area, especially at night if required

Please take care when travelling around the WRP and driveway.

Don't miss these details

BFHI will have a site compound set up in the WRP. These buildings will remain on site for future works at the WRP.

We'll access the plant through the main driveway off Craigie Road. We'll do our best to reduce impacts and clean up the road if required.

We're planning multiple upgrades to the WRP over the next 5 years. We haven't finalised the details and impacts of these projects yet, but will keep the WRP webpage up to date.
