Works in your area from April 2026

 

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing.

With some works in Alexander Blvd and Smiths Lane Clyde North you might see us or our contractor Abergeldie, BMD, KBR JV (ABK JV) around. Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

We’re upgrading the Cardinia Creek North recycled water main network to meet future demands.

For any direct impacts to residents, we''ll be in touch prior to starting any works.

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewer services while we work.

When it's happening

Works will take place from Tuesday 7 April until late June (depending on the weather).

These works will take place Monday to Friday, between 7 am and 6 pm and Saturdays from 7am to 1pm. On the odd occasion, we might need to work at other times for safety, technical or permit reasons.

What might impact you

We'll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you may notice while we work:

  • Intermittent lane closures on Alexander Boulevard, Smiths Lane and surrounding streets with local detours in place (see map for up-to-date information)
  • Temporary pedestrian path closures, with detours in place
  • Periods of increased noise due to heavy machinery, including reversing beepers
  • Additional trucks on local streets and reduced on‑street parking
  • Temporary storage area located on the nature-strip along Alexander Boulevard, near Vondel Way 
  • Temporary site compound and storage area located at the southern end of Smiths Lane, in place until late June 2026
  • Temporary disruption and detour to Bus service 798 including some "no parking area's" to assist with bus detour.

Our infrastructure program involves replacing, maintaining and upgrading the existing water and sewerage infrastructure above and below the ground, so you can always rely on us when you need a drink, a bath, to wash the clothes or dishes and every time you flush or send water down the drain.

 

These works will upgrade the capacity of the existing recycled water network to meet the growing demands of the Clyde area. 

 The works will:

We're ready to start construction to upgrade the recycled water network from April 7.

Works will start in early April and take approximately 8 weeks to complete.

Investigation works are not likely to cause high levels of dust and vibration.
