Our infrastructure program involves replacing, maintaining and upgrading the existing water and sewerage infrastructure above and below the ground, so you can always rely on us when you need a drink, a bath, to wash the clothes or dishes and every time you flush or send water down the drain.
We're working to protect an exposed sewer pipe beneath Sweetwater Creek, located behind 15 Mulgra Street in Frankston South.
These essential works will protect and stabilize the exposed sewer pipe and prevent further erosion within the creek channel caused by significant rainfall events.
Construction of the project is expected to start from 6 January 2026 for approximately 3 months (depending on the weather).
Construction work will involve stabilizing the creek channel to protect the exposed sewer pipe, and prevent further erosion within the creek channel caused by significant rainfall events. This will be achieved by reinstating the channel with effective scour protection measures.
We will be working with permission within private property at the rear of 15 Mulgra Street in Frankston South. We will also have a temporary site compound at this location.
Access to the site for construction trucks and vehicles will come via nearby Karina Street and Mulgra Street, with access to the construction area via the driveway at 13 Mulgra Street.
At times we may need to temporarily reduce on-street parking along Mulgra Street to facilitate deliveries of machinery and materials.
Construction staff will help guide drivers and pedestrians safely through the area during periods of deliveries. Please take care when travelling around the work site.
Construction will be Monday to Friday, between 7 am and 6 pm, and Saturday between 7am and 1pm if occasionally required. We may need to work outside these hours for safety, technical or permit reasons.
We’re planning to start work on Tuesday 6 January 2026 for approximately 3 months (depending on the weather).
South East Water and our appointed delivery partner ABK will keep you informed about the project and construction in your area via door knock, letter drop, or SMS/email (depending on which details you've provided). We'll also keep this webpage up to date.
The project team will notify affected properties in advance and advise of alternative parking arrangements. The crew will also be available to assist residents where possible. We’re sorry for the inconvenience and will work to make sure this is for as short a time as possible.
The construction methods chosen are not likely to cause high levels of dust and vibration. The project team will carry out regular site area inspections during high volumes of work to monitor for the safety and comfort of local residents and the community. There will be periods of noise and dust from heavy machinery and trucks accessing the site.
