What is the Utility relief grant scheme?

If you’re in a low-income household and experiencing financial difficulty, a utility relief grant may be able to help. You can still apply if you are at risk of disconnection or restriction of your electricity, gas or water supply.

Run by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH), the Utility relief grant scheme (URGS) helps people in financial crisis.

How much is the grant?

Each grant is based on how much you owe when you apply.

The maximum amount granted is $650 for each utility account. The grant is to support you with bills you've already recieved.
