How much is the discount?

You can get 50% of your water and sewerage charges, up to a maximum discount of $372.10 in 2025-26. If you're connected to a single service, like water only, the maximum discount is $186.05.

We'll apply your concession to past bills from the start date on your card, or up to a maximum of 12 months if you've had your card longer than 12 months. This amount will be credited to your account.

Who can apply?

If you have hold one of the eligible cards listed below, you can register to reduce the amount you need to pay.

Pensioner Concession Card
Centrelink Health Care Card
Department of Veterans' Affairs

Note: You can only register to pay for a reduced amount if you have certain concession cards. If you do not have a valid card, you won’t be able to apply. Check your eligibility before applying.

Is there any other criteria?

  • The property you’re applying for must be your main place of residence and address on your card must match the address of the property.
  • The property must be connected to our water and/or sewerage system.
  • If the concession cardholder’s name isn't on the South East Water account, you’ll have to provide evidence that the cardholder contributes to the account. This could be a lease agreement, a private agreement with the account holder or a letter from the account holder.
