UPDATE on South East Water emergency sewer works – corner of Birdwood and White streets, Bentleigh East

As you might have seen, our crews are still in your area fixing a broken sewer pipe. Don’t worry – there’s still no impact to your water supply and sewer network.

The wet weather this week has delayed these important works even more

You now might see or hear us around now over the next 2 weeks (hopefully earlier) while we complete the works. 

We’re sorry for the disruption and delay but the wet weather this week has made it hard for us to do the major repairs safely and quickly. 

There’s nothing for you to worry about and we’ll still keep the disruption to a minimum and leave the area as we found it.

These are the kinds of things you might notice while we work

• More trucks and machinery like cranes and excavators on Birdwood and White streets, Bentleigh East and on other streets around the works area.

• Noise from machinery, like pumps and beepers when trucks reverse. 

• A change in normal traffic flow and worksite set up on local streets. 

Our traffic management team will be around to make sure people, bikes and cars can move around safely 24/7.
