Moving terms
Terms and conditions for using online moving services.
1. Moving In
1.1. I warrant that I am the owner of the premises or the owner’s authorised agent.
1.2. I am providing the renter's details in accordance with s.273A(c) Water Act 1989. I have obtained consent from the renter to provide their details to South East Water, including to provide their full name, date of birth, email address, and phone number.
1.3. I will use reasonable endeavours to make the renters aware that, under s.273B of the Water Act 1989, they must notify South East Water when moving out of the premises. I have advised the renter that South East Water will use best endeavours to read the meter within 2 Business Days of receiving such notice and that, failing to provide this notice, will result in the renter being liable for water usage charges beyond the move out date (calculated in accordance with s.273B(4) of the Water Act 1989).
1.4. I understand that the renter will be liable only for water usage charges during their tenancy and that the owner will be liable for all other charges in relation to the provision of water and sewer services to the property.
2. Moving Out
2.1. Owner/Agent Acknowledgement:
2.1.1. Subject to clause 2.1.2, I understand that once South East Water has read the meter and issued a final bill to a renter, I will be liable for all water usage charges relating to the property in accordance with s.273B(5) of the Water Act 1989. This is in addition to the service and other charges relating to the provision of water and sewer services to the property.
2.1.2. My obligation to pay water usage charges under clause 2.1.1 will not apply to the extent that I have provided South East Water with the details of a subsequent renter.
2.2. Renter Acknowledgement:
2.2.1.The renter acknowledges that, under s.273B of the Water Act 1989, they must notify South East Water when moving out of the premises. The renter acknowledges that South East Water will use best endeavours to read the meter within 2 Business Days of receiving such notice and that, failing to provide this notice prior to the move out date, will result in the renter being liable for water usage charges beyond the move out date (calculated in accordance with s.273B(4) of the Water Act 1989).
2.2.2. If the renter’s account with South East Water is not paid, it may be listed as a default which could affect their credit rating.
