Community conversations

Although much of what South East Water does is invisible, with 23,000 kilometres of pipeline operating beneath the earth, the work we do is vital to the health and wellbeing of our community and we take this responsibility very seriously.

It is important that we are able to engage with all of our customers to educate them about the urban water cycle – water supply and quality, sewage treatment , South East Water’s major assets and innovations, how to manage their water bills and the options that are available to them for bill payment and assistance.

Our service area is very diverse and consists of some of the highest non English speaking customers in Melbourne. Many of these customers are experiencing a guaranteed supply of drinking water and sewerage services for the first time. For these customers, receiving water bills and interacting with a water authority can be overwhelming so reaching out to them to provide education is an important part of their transition into the community.

Presentations can be tailored to the group to include local projects, visual and interactive concepts or specific topics. So if you’ve ever wondered what goes on underground or how we deliver quality water and sewerage services, we’d love to come talk, listen and answer your questions. Presentations are ideal for groups of 15 to 100 people, from Rotary clubs and gardening groups to TAFE classes, ESL Groups and neighbourhood organisations.
