Night time works in your area starting May 2021

You might not notice a lot of the work we do because most of it is beneath your feet. Every day, we’re maintaining and upgrading the pipes and pumps that keep water flowing. With some upcoming works in Bluff Road and Wickham Road, Hampton you might see us or our contractor Comdain around.

Here’s what to expect while we get the job done.

What we're doing

This project is to upgrade the water pipe connection at the corner of Bluff Road and Wickham Road, Hampton to ensure a reliable water supply.

You shouldn’t notice any change to your water or sewerage services and will continue with your temporary water supply while we work.

These works are being undertaken at night as requested by the Department of Transport permit requirements.

When it's happening

Night works will occur Sunday 30 May to Wednesday 2 June during the hours of 8 pm to 5 am (weather permitting).

On the odd occasion, we may need to work at other times for safety or technical reasons.

Once the connection is completed, the project will return to day works Monday to Friday between 9.30 am and 3 pm until late June 2021 depending on the weather.

What might impact you

We’ll do our best to keep impacts to a minimum, however these are the kinds of things you might notice while we work:

  • More trucks on the streets around you.
  • Less car parks around the work zones.
  • Noise from machinery, like beepers when trucks reverse.
  • A change in normal traffic flow.
  • Lights as we work at night.
  • Our traffic management team will be around to make sure people, bikes and cars can move around safely.

Dont miss these details

We’re working with our contractor Comdain to help us with this upgrade.

If you’re a business, you’ll need to make sure that the works and any interruption to water supply don’t affect your emergency fire plan. You’ll also need to let your insurer know.

When we’ve finished the job, we’ll leave things how we found them and return any areas we’ve impacted as close as possible to their original condition.

During the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) we have changed our engagement practice to ensure our crews can maintain physical distancing. Our COVID-19 update letter can be found below.
